Visual Beats: Create compelling visual narratives for films, comics, and more

Whether you’re creating an immersive ad campaign, a gag comic strip, or a horror music video, an understanding of story beats is essential to creating compelling visual narratives. In this 4-hour workshop, Bonni Rambatan, writer-artist and founder of NaoBun Project comic book agency, will take you through the process from premise to storyboard that you can then take away for your own projects.

What to expect: Understanding story structures, form, and composition in a sequential visual medium.

What to bring: Your tools of choice (pen and paper or graphics tablet and laptop), and, optionally, a story idea.

Workshop output: A shot-by-shot detailed storyboard of one scene that you can use for a filming guide or finalize into comics.

*If you are trying to get into comics, a portfolio review session will also be available after the workshop session. Bring your works!
